Play Folk Guitar with Chris Quinn

Join Chris Quinn for an in depth 8 week course in Folk Guitar. This course will give you some great tips and skills for playing folk guitar. Chris has played at many of the UK’s major folk festivals including Cambridge, Shrewsbury and Ely, he’s been performing on the acoustic scene across Europe and the USA for over a decade and has worked and recorded with some of folk’s best known artists. Over the 8 weeks you’ll look at traditional folk music from both the British Isles and The USA, covering some of the most important styles of folk guitar, looking at accompanying the voice or another instrument and also as a lead instrument. You’ll also learn some classic arrangements of well loved folk songs. Over the weeks you’ll get a more in depth knowledge of the following styles and techniques:

• Bluegrass
• Celtic guitar
• Carter style
• DADGAD tuning for British folk
• Writing your own arrangements

Each 1 hour weekly group lesson is accompanied by worksheets and a pass to view the online video tutorials. All you need is a basic knowledge of chords to enrol, the course is aimed at improvers and intermediate level musicians.
